I’m clicking the play icon and it looks like its playing but I cant hear any sound.
Make sure your sound is turned up all the way. Assuming that you would not make that mistake please make sure that you have updated your flash player to version 7.0. If you have version 6.0 you will see it all happening and you wont be able to hear any of it. This is usually the problem. Update your Flash Player here.
How is my credit card charged when I make a purchase from Deep Soul Sessions
The answer depends on your preferences that are setup in the "My Deep Soul Sessions" Section of the web site. Your card will be charged accordingly. If you select "Download Immediately" as your preferred method for shopping, your card will be charged in a 48 hour time frame from your first purchase. So if you would like to purchase more music throughout the day, you may. Your card is only charged once with the combined total of your purchases. If your preference is to hold things in "your crate" then your card will be charged upon checkout.
What do I do when I get the message that my browser does not know what to do with my file
Under no circumstances should you ever press "Cancel". Always press "Save File As". This way you can save your files to the desktop. For security reasons, when you press "Buy" or "Download", we account for your download immediately. You only get 1 (one) download per payment cycle. You can always download another file if you need another one. This works the same in both the Library and the "Download Immediately" options.
I forgot my password.
Go to the Deep Soul Sessions.com homepage and click on sign in. Afterwards you will see a link called forgot password which you can click on to receive a temporary password from Deep Soul Sessions. This new password will be sent to the email account you used to register with the site and only functions for 24 hours. After the 24 hours, your account password will return to the original password you signed up with. For security reasons, this email will not give you the original password. Once you have successfully logged in to the site, we suggest that you change your password to something you’ll remember by clicking on "My Deep Soul Sessions" > "My Account View" > "Edit." Once you have added the new password click on "Update" to make the changes secure.
Registration:
To register for a new account with Deep Soul Sessions, simply click on Register on the main page. After reading and agreeing to the terms and conditions, enter all necessary personal information to get started. You must enter a valid email address as email confirmation is required. You can choose whether or not to enter your credit card information during the registration process.
Favorites:
The Favorites is a location within your account to hold and preview potential purchases from the Deep Soul Sessions store. Your crate will remember your previous selections from the last time you visited the site, so you can store merchandise for a later purchase date. You can also preview selections within the crate by clicking on the "play" button next to the desired selection. Our new crate functionality ensures that you can listen to selections while browsing the site. If you wish to purchase selections in the crate, simply click on "check out."
When do you post New Releases
We post the New Releases as we get them. Make sure you register for our Email notification that has all our New Releases listed. You can customize your email notifications by registering for the site and then selecting the genres of your choice in the preference sections in the My Deep Soul Sessions section.
Pricing:
Currently the Deep Soul Sessions pricing standards are as follows for MP3s and MP4s:$1.99 for tracks that are exclusive to Deep Soul Sessions or pre-release (promo) tracks.$1.49 for tracks that are new releases (released at the same time as the vinyl)$1.99 for Out of Print classics and hard to find releases.$1.29 for all other tracks files are an additional $.50 from their respective price point due to the higher audio quality of these files.
File Formats and Encoding:
All Music on Deep Soul Sessions is sent in WAV format directly from the label partners on our site. Deep Soul Sessions currently provides music in MP3, MP4 and WAV file formats. MP3s are encoded at 320 kbps using the LAME encoder. MP4s are encoded using a Variable Bit Rate encoder at 192 kbps (or 170-205 kbps.) WAV Files are the original masters from Deep Soul Sessions label partners. Deep Soul Sessions uses these original WAV files to encode the MP3s and MP4s.
Delivery:
Deep Soul Sessions Delivers MP3s and MP4s for immediate download from the site. You can download right away using the instant download function or you can download these files later from your purchase Library if you choose to buy from the crate. WAV files cannot be downloaded at this time. If you choose to purchase WAV files, they will be mailed to your shipping address using Fed-Ex as the courier. WAV files from Deep Soul Sessions are sent as Data. This means that you cannot play your Deep Soul Sessions CD in a standard stereo, you must first load the Data CDR onto your computer to transfer the files to another format of your choice. Most basic audio software can handle this simple task.
If I order a CD, how will it get shipped to me
We use FedEx for all of our shipping. As long as we receive your order by 2:00 pm MST, we will burn your order and have it shipped that same day.
How can I pay for my products
Deep Soul Sessions accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express for all transactions.
User Preferences:
The User Address is divided into two separate addresses; a shipping address and a billing address. The billing address is the one that should match that of your Credit Card billing statement. This is the address Deep Soul Sessions uses to verify your Credit Card information. The shipping address is the one that you would like your merchandise shipped to if you choose that form of delivery method. You can add as many addresses as you like as long as the correct ones are set as the "default" address (default shipping address and default billing address.)
Shipping Method:
The "shipping method" in the y Deep Soul Sessions preferences relates to how you want to your music delivered. In delivery of MP3s and MP4s it easiest just to download the music. However, if you want high quality WAV files shipped to your location, then it would be wise to choose your default shipping Method. Your choices are FedEx Ground, 2-day, Next Day or International. If you are located outside of the Continental United States, International Shipping is suggested.
Email Preferences:
If you are interested in a certain genre of music, our emails are customizable to your needs. Simply select the genre that coincides with your tastes and Deep Soul Sessions email notifications will be sent out based on your specific needs.
New Feature! Subscribe to and Artist or Label
Deep Soul Sessions 2.0 has provided a helpful new feature that allows users to subscribe to their favorite artists or labels. If you are a fan of a certain artist or label, simply hit the "subscribe" button next to that artist or label on their specific landing page. This feature will send you a notification every time the label or artist has a new release or related news about the artist/label. This feature will also place the new release in your crate for you when you come to Deep Soul Sessions o you don need to shop around for it. This doesn’t mean that you have to purchase the release, it is simply a time saving feature that lets you avoid the search for new titles from your favorite producers.
Does Deep Soul Sessions have a preferred web browser
We have tested the site extensively on all platforms. We have optimized the performance of the site to handle any platform. You will have the best results when using a broadband connection such as DSL or cable modems. Also, newer computers that feature faster processors will have a much easier time rendering the pages. If you have any feedback on technical problems, please post this on the technical FAQ message board.
Will Deep Soul Sessions sell my account information
Deep Soul Sessions has a zero tolerance policy on spamming. We hate it. You hate it. So you will only receive an email from us. And, only as often as you request.
Which MP3 players work with Deep Soul Sessions
Files downloaded from Deep Soul Sessions can be played on most MP3-players including the iPod. For best results make sure your MP3 player supports ID3 v2. This simply refers to the way the files are tagged for Song name, Artist, Album, Label, Genre. Etc.
Can I burn CDs from the Deep Soul Sessions web site
You cannot burn audio files from the site directly. You can burn Deep Soul Sessions MP3 and MP4 files to CD on your own computer, or, you can order wav files to be burned to disc and mailed to you via FedEx.
Deep Soul Sessions Support Issues
If at any time you experience a problem with the Deep Soul Sessions site, feel free to contact us. Keep in mind that our support responds to inquiries in 24-48 hours depending on the volume that day. We respond to emails in the order they are received. Please note that answers to many of your questions will be available in the FAQ section or in our new expanded forums. When you write to support, please include information such as your username, the order number (if any) and any other pertinent information that may help us assist you in a timely fashion. The more information you give us about the problem, the more likely we can solve it quickly and provide excellent customer service to all of our users.
Sound Quality Issues
We at the Deep Soul Sessions staff do our best to provide our customers with quality music from the top dance labels. We offer music in 320 MP3, WAV and MP4 depending on your tastes. That being said, we do not normalize, re-master or engineer the files in any way. The music goes on the site exactly the way it is sent to us from the label. And some labels have higher standards of quality than others. You can easily tell which music was made in a million dollar studio and which was made in a much smaller one. This is much like shopping in a record store. Some records are quiet and others are too loud depending on the quality of mastering involved in the press. When you get a brand new album from Britney Spears, you can be fairly certain it will be mastered really well, but in the nature of the independent artist / label, this is not always as certain. We are the first to offer a refund if there is an obvious skip or a severe issue. We may also contact the label to get another copy for our customers, but Deep Soul Sessions, as a dance music store, cannot be held responsible for different labels mastering standards.
What are the limitations to the music I download
Files downloaded from Deep Soul Sessions can be listened to on your computer or portable digital audio devices. Also, the files can be burned to disc for listening on CD players. As per our end-user agreement, you CANNOT trade Deep Soul Sessions files with anyone else. This is a community of DJs and artists and we do not support the sharing of files. Please respect the copyright and your role as the end user. (See the FAQ Can I share files with my friends for more information.)
Can I DJ with files purchased from Deep Soul Sessions
Yes, buying a track from Deep Soul Sessions is just like buying a record from the record store. The same legal implications are in effect. Deep Soul Sessions has taken the time to create agreements with all labels involved with our site and provide you with digital, legal alternatives to the music you may have purchased on record previously.
How can I get my music on Deep Soul Sessions
At this point in time, unsigned music will not be accepted for distribution on Deep Soul Sessions. Deep Soul Sessions works exclusively with labels.
